About Those ‘Rick Grimes Is Returning To The Walking Dead’ Rumors

The man is Rick Grimes.

For the past day, Rick Grimes has been the subject of a lot of attention on social media, not just because of the Walking Dead character, but also because of the fact that he's a man. Andrew Lincoln left the Walking Dead series in the middle of the last season, but he is still being celebrated and questioned by people.

I follow the show very closely and I wanted to find out where this came from. I can tell you that this all started with a fan account that claimed to have inside information about Andrew Lincoln's filming schedule over the next year.

I don't know anything about this account other than it really likes Andrew Lincoln, and this supposed inside information is impossible to verify. There is nothing to say that The Walking Dead movies featuring a captured Rick Grimes in Philadelphia will be part of the project in 2022.

Here are the facts on the ground.

The idea of Andrew Lincoln playing rick in a series of movies was announced soon after he left the show, but it was revealed that he was captured and not killed off.

We have had a global Pandemic, which has delayed a lot of projects, including this one, but the last update we got about the Rick Grimes movies was in July 2021.

We don't want a bad Rick Grimes movie, right? Everybody wants an amazing Rick Grimes movie and so they are making sure that when this comes out it is worth the wait, and it is actually the special character building Rick Grimes journey that everybody wants it to be. We're not going to rush this thing out, and we're going to make sure that it's perfect.

The man is Rick Grimes.

Andrew Lincoln said he was going to film the movies in the spring. Here is Greg Nicotero.

I wish I could say when it's happening. Over the last few months, I've read a number of drafts of the script. They are making sure that they get it right.

The idea is that if Andrew Lincoln is doing something related to The Walking Dead in 2022, it will be the first time that these movies have been filmed. The show is returning for a final string of episodes in February, but it does not mean that he is returning to the show. I don't think Rick will show up in the current, present timeline of TWD in these final episodes, but we can't rule out some sort of Rick Grimes tease at the end, or one final appearance.
