There is a new long haul route between Dallas and Tel Aviv. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the launch of this route has been delayed once again.
The American flight to Israel was delayed again.
The most exciting of American Airlines' international expansion was a new Dallas to Tel Aviv flight. The return of American to Israel seemed like a huge gap in the network of the world's largest airline.
The coronaviruses caused American to rethink their plan to launch Dallas to Tel Aviv flights in September 2020. The route was delayed through October 2021, then through January 2022, then through March 2022, and now through May 2022.
The Dallas to Tel Aviv flight is being planned by American Airlines.

The flight will cover a distance of 6,960 miles and is blocked at 13hr15min to Israel and 14hr from Israel. The route will be used by American with 273 seats. Business class seats include 37, premium economy seats include 24 and economy seats include 212.
The business class is American.
It is not surprising to see this route delayed again. Israel has been very conservative with its border reopening, and the omicron variant isn't helping with restrictions being lifted. American has a wide body aircraft shortage which is impacting their international expansion.
The New York and Miami routes are American.
The Dallas to Tel Aviv route was the first route that American announced, but the carrier also launched two new Israel routes before that. Specifically:
The Dallas to Tel Aviv route was the first to be announced, and it was not surprising to see the New York and Miami to Tel Aviv routes follow suit. The Dallas to Tel Aviv route is the most reliant on connecting traffic, so it makes sense that American is holding off on the longest route.
American has two routes to Israel.
The Dallas to Tel Aviv flight is expected to launch in May 2022. The Dallas route will be the last one to launch because American has already launched routes from New York and Miami to Tel Aviv.
I think it is more likely that this route will launch in 2022, than the Seattle to Bangalore route, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this route delayed even further.
What do you think about American's new Dallas to Tel Aviv route? Do you think it will launch in May?
