Kevin Coleman joined the Jackson State Tigers' recruiting class in the year 2022.

Coleman made a surprise announcement during the Army All-American Bowl. He said that Deion Sanders was the main reason for his commitment to the Tigers. The Miami Hurricanes were the heavy favorite to land Coleman.

Coleman is a 4-star prospect and the No. 4 wide receiver in the state of Missouri.

He drew interest from some of the biggest powerhouses in college football, understating how much of a difference-maker he can be if he lives up to expectations.

At one point, he was interested in Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State and Texas.

Coleman was projected to be a future first-round NFL draft pick by Allen Trieu, who compared Coleman to another player.

He provided a scouting report for the wide receiver, pointing to Coleman's sudden speed and ability to create a lot of separation with his breaks. Coleman is known for his hands and can make defenders miss in the open field and turn short passes into long gains.

He had 76 catches for 1,512 yards and 21 touchdown in the year of 2019.

He will be one of the biggest wins of the entire recruiting class for Jackson State if he does that.
