The price of the full self driving software is going to be $12,000, according to Musk. The new price will take effect on January 17th for customers only in the US. He said that the monthly subscription price would go up as the software got closer to wide release.
In October of 2020 the company began testing the product with a group of customers. The price of FSD was increased byTesla. Musk said during his earnings call that the software does not make the cars fully self-sufficient, but that they are able to drive from one's house to work. It will still be supervised, but it will be able to drive.
On Jan 17 the price of the FSD rose to $12k.

To get access to the software, drivers need to have a good safety score, but they can request it via a button on the dashboard. The safety score is determined by five criteria that estimate the likelihood that your driving could result in a future collision.
Musk has promised a wider release of the product. He said that the long-awaited version of FSD would begin rolling out in the summer of 2018, and that there would be over a million cars with full self-driving, software, everything, in a year. The dates came and went, but the FSD is still available to early adopters.
The software has drawn a lot of scrutiny and criticism. The Federal Trade Commission was asked to investigate how the company marketed its driver assistance software.
