You can watch a live stream of the James Webb Space Telescope today.
At 4:30 p.m. The Virtual Telescope Project in Italy will stream live telescope views of the James Webb Space Telescope. The Virtual Telescope Project has a window above which you can watch the live event.
The $10 billion mission to study the universe's history is called the Webb. The collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency was the result of decades of planning. The spaceship was launched from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, on December 25, 2021.
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope mission is live.

The view of the James Webb Space Telescope was captured by the Virtual Telescope Project. The Virtual Telescope Project is a part of it.
The space telescope will make observations from a place in the solar system called L2 which is 1 million miles away from Earth. The mission has successfully completed new stages in its observational preparations, unfolding its mirrors and sun shield as it travels to this distant post. More than one million km away from our planet, is how far away we are as of this morning.
The Virtual Telescope Project has a live feed that allows people to view the space telescope. Masi helms this online platform, which provides views of his ground-based tracking telescopes and commentary of space events.
Masi makes observations from Ceccano, Italy, which is south of Rome. The footage of the space telescope will look like a small white speck, flying past a sea of background stars.
From L2, we will be able to peer through the universe in depth, helping scientists learn about the earliest moments of the universe and providing a better understanding of Earth's own Cosmic neighborhood.
