According to reports in Variety and Deadline, two lead writers have been named for the Amazon Prime Video adaptation of the video game series, "Fallout."

Variety and Deadline both report that Jonathan Nolan will direct the first episode of the show, which was previously known that he and Lisa Joy would be executive producers.

Nolan and Joy won't be the primary creative leads. The two showrunners have been attached to them.

Robertson-Dworet wrote the script for the Tomb Raider film. She is working on a Star Trek film that will be released in 2023.

One of the main writers on the sketch comedy series Portlandia, as well as one of the main writers on The Office, Silicon Valley, and Baskets, is the man named Wagner.

Robertson-Dworet has a science fiction and action/adventure background, while Wagner has a comedy background.

The series was first announced in July with Nolan and Joy attached, but there were few other details available. We don't know much about the series, but the selection of the above two as show runners suggests that comedy and action will be central.

For those who don't know, the video game franchise is set in a post- apocalyptic future where a cold war between China and the United States leads to a nuclear winter and the world is overrun by violent bandits. The series is known for its sense of humor as much as its darkness, with pop culture references, a 1950s aesthetic, heavy influences from pulp science fiction, and biting satire of American capitalism.

The intellectual property of the series was later bought by the publisher of the game. The Elder Scrolls and the recent Fallout games are both made by the same company, Bethesda Game Studios, which is best known for the open-world adventure role-playing series.

The TV series' writers have a lot to draw upon because the series has a long and consistent library of lore.

We don't know when the show will start streaming to audiences.
