Groping Charge Dropped Against Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo

Albany County District Attorney David Soares dropped a forcible touching charge against Andrew Cuomo, who was accused of touching a former aide at the executive mansion.

Andrew Cuomo was facing a criminal charge related to a wave of sexual harassment allegations.

According to the Associated Press, Soares told Judge Holly Trexler that he did not think he could win a conviction in court, though he believed the aide, Brittany Commisso, was a credible witness.

Rita Glavin claimed that the charge was a political act.

16 women have accused Cuomo of sexual harassment. Cuomo sexually harrassed multiple women in violation of state and federal law. Cuomo resigned days after the report was released, but insists he did not act inappropriate.

The charge against Cuomo was dropped.
