According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Kellen Moore will interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head coaching position on Friday night.

The Jags' job became available last month after Jacksonville fired Urban Meyer, who had a 2-11 record through 13 games.

Moore played quarterback for the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. He became Dallas' quarterbacks coach and then was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019.

Jim Caldwell, Matt Eberflus, Nathaniel Hackett, and Todd Bowles are some of the other candidates for the Jacksonville's position.

Bill O'Brien, the former Houston Texans head coach, is also set to interview, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Moore has enjoyed a lot of success as the Cowboys OC.

The Cowboys are second in total offense and first in scoring, and with one game left to play this season, they are ranked first in total offense and first in scoring.

The campaign was not typical. Dallas was 17th in scoring and 14th in total offense, but they missed out on much of the season because of injury.

Moore's leadership has helped develop one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has bounced back from a broken ankle to complete 68.4% of his passes for 4,154 yards, 32 touchdown and 10 interceptions in 15 games this season.

Moore's work with the young, talented quarterback in need of guidance is something that the Jaguars would like to have.

Lawrence was the consensus top prospect in the draft, but his first season has been rough.

Lawrence has completed 58.9 percent of his passes for 10 touchdown and 17 picks for Jacksonville, which is a league-worst 2-14. He has scored two scores.

The Jags have invested a lot in Lawrence and hiring an offensive minded head coach with a history of working well with quarterbacks would be a logical move.

Moore has no head coaching experience and would be the youngest head coach in the NFL, but given how much success the Los Angeles Rams have enjoyed since hiring Sean McVay at age 30 in 2017, precedent exists for such a hire to work out.
