The State of the Union addresses are not given during a president's first year in office, despite Biden delivering a speech to a joint session of Congress last year.

The State of the Union speech will be limited to an in-person audience of 200 people, due to Covid restrictions, but it's not clear if there will be crowd limitations.

The State of the Union is given to all members of Congress and invited guests, and is broadcasted on major television networks.
