Virgin Voyages’ flagship stars in new series of The Apprentice

The first Virgin Voyages vessel, the Scarlet Lady, was beamed into millions of homes across the country as series 16 of The Apprentice began.

The two teams set about creating a marketing campaign for a new cruise line over two days on the ship, after Lord Alan Sugar told them that they wouldn't get fired.

The contestants who had to design a brand, an advert and a social media tease were given exclusive access to the line's flagship in Pompey.

The mini season of the Scarlet Lady was based in the port.

The contestants are in the opening episode of The Apprentice.

The two teams created brands. The Never Ending Nautical logo was compared to a turd by viewers.

The contestants were asked about their marketing campaigns in the theatre by a panel including the line's experience director and the captain of the Scarlet Lady.

The Never Ending Nautical logo was called the worst logo by Lord Sugar.

The online travel agency Cruise Circle tried to get the attention of the public by asking, "What do you think of Scarlet Lady anyway?" Her sister ship will launch later this year.

Drop us a message and we can help you out with your bouji trip. No turds were included.

Andy Freeth, chief executive of JG Travel Group, made a joke about this year's contestants. He said that he was a big fan of The Apprentice, but that none of this year's candidates have a shot at a career in marketing in the Cruise sector.

I am a big fan of the show but I am pretty sure that none of this year's candidates have a chance at a career in marketing in the Cruise sector.
