A former GOP senate candidate — who filmed himself setting his MAGA hat on fire — says he'll donate $1 million to charity if Trump goes on a live debate with him in Arizona

A businessman who once ran for senate in Arizona and recently torched his political party with a flamethrower, has challenged Donald Trump to a live debate at the latter's upcoming rally and offered to donate $1 million to charity if the president accepts.

Daniel McCarthy, who ran for Arizona's Republican Senate nomination in 2020 but lost to former Senator Martha McSally, sent a video message for Trump on Wednesday.

Hey, Donald Trump. Daniel McCarthy is in Arizona. McCarthy was sitting in the cab of a truck and said the world was waking up. Please stop using the smoke and mirrors with the audits.

McCarthy said to stop with your money and endorsements. "Stop pushing the sauce." It's not clear what McCarthy was talking about.

He suggested that Trump take 30 minutes of stage time to debate McCarthy or answer his questions in front of the former president's supporters, because he noted that Trump would be arriving in Arizona on January 15 for another one of his do nothing, rah-rah session rallies.

If the former president accepts, the businessman will donate $1 million to six charities, according to his biography. The charities include a mobile anti-abortion center, a gun-rights lobbying group, and a legal defense fund for Jacob Chansley.

On Tuesday, Trump announced that he would be giving a speech at the Arizona rally after canceling a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

McCarthy said he was going to attack Trump's presidency. He told them to think about all the things they've done.
You were ushered in medical tyranny. Our national debt was exploded by you. You relinquished your sovereignty with the trade deal. McCarthy said that you passed more gun laws than Obama did.

Daniel McCarthy will be in Arizona on January 4, 2022.

McCarthy lost the 2020 Arizona GOP primary because it was "stolen".

McCarthy said that his team had warned him that the Senate primary was rigged, even though Trump had claimed the election was stolen from him.

McCarthy said that the former president had set up his most loyal supporters and that he had surrounded himself with swamp creatures for four years.

McCarthy said he was looking forward to seeing you on January 15.

McCarthy is shown leaving his truck and using a flamethrower to torch a hat.

McCarthy and Trump didn't respond to Insider's requests for comment.
