The partnership between the two companies continues to lean into the expertise of Hasselblad.

The upcoming OnePlus 10 Pro will have a focus on camera specifications. If you were hoping for a lot of hardware upgrades from this second-gen partnership with Hasselblad, it looks like you will have to wait.

The triple rear camera configuration that we learned about earlier this week is likely to be the same as last year, with a 48-, 50-, and 8-megapixel main, ultrawide, and telephoto cameras. The 9 and 9 Pro has a 16-megapixel selfie camera, but the front-facing camera has a 32-megapixel resolution.

The addition of a shooting mode called RAW Plus combines the benefits of computational photography and RAW image capture. This is a nice improvement for those who want to tinker with data-rich RAW files while retaining the advanced image processing that smartphone cameras are so good at.

The updated Hasselblad Pro Mode can be used to control exposure settings and shoot 12-bit files. We really liked the intuitive Pro Mode on the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, so we are eager to check out the latest version. Movie Mode is a new manual video recording mode. Control over ISO and shutter speed is offered as well as access to a LOG shooting format that can be used for post-capture color grading.

The 9 and 9 Pro cameras featured color tuning by Hasselblad, and the partnership continues to lean into that aspect. This iteration brings 10-bit color to each of the phone's three rear cameras. If you can see all of the colors on a screen, that should make for a smooth color gradation.

The view from the new ultrawide lens is very wide.

There is a new ultrawide camera sensor that has an extreme 150 degree field of view, somewhere in the ballpark of 5mm in 35mm terms. This lens can be used with a new fisheye mode to take a dramatic shot. The ultrawide has a mode that is closer to the 14mm equivalent offered by the 9 and 9 Pro, and uses artificial intelligence.

It looks like the monochrome camera has been dropped by the company. This was a low-resolution chip that was included in previous models. That was the claim. Jon Porter has described it as "baffling" and "pointless" for years, and we struggled to find it making any difference in images. The renders of the 10 Pro that we have seen so far show three useful looking cameras along with a flash and nothing else that looks like a sensor. We didn't know what to do with the farewell, mono camera.

What we have learned about the OnePlus 10 Pro so far is not surprising. It will come with the same features as the previous ones, including a 120Hz screen, 50W wireless charging, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chipset. It will be available in other regions later this year.
