The release date for Truth Social is displayed on an Apple App Store listing.

The ability to like and share text-based posts, exchange private messages, and scroll a "Truth Feed" are similar to those offered by Twitter.

The developers of Truth Social claimed in the App Store listing that they will be inclusive towards all ideologies, so that liberals, conservatives and libertarians can have an amazing time together.

CNBC reported that Truth Social missed a self-imposed deadline to launch invitation-only testing of the platform.

The key background.

Two days after the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, Trump was permanently banned from the social media platform. The decision was decried by Trump as an expression of "cancel-culture" and he predicted that users would desert the platform. In October, he unveiled Trump Media and Technology Group, which is planning to go public by merging with a blank check company and is aiming to launch a conservative-friendly social media app and a subscription service. On Tuesday, the Republican from California resigned from Congress to head the company. DWAC's share price jumped nearly 400% one day after the merger announcement, with trading halted multiple times due to volatility, and shares closed at a high of $94.20 a day later, though the price has dropped since then and closed at $60.27 on Thursday. The Trump company said last month that it had raised $1 billion from unnamed institutional investors.

There is a structure called the Tangent.

DWAC disclosed in a filing last month that regulators from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority opened inquiries into the planned merger.

A poll suggested that a lot of Republicans would use Truth Social. Parler is unable to match the influence of the social network.

Trump will launch his social media app in February.

According to a poll, over 60% of Republicans plan to use Trump's social media.
