The decision to release Antonio Brown was made by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday afternoon, but it is now final.
According to Fox Sports, Brown was told to leave the field after he refused to go into the game against the Jets. The wide receiver was no longer a part of the team, as was answered by the coach after the victory. Brown was listed as not practicing on Wednesday due to a non-injury, personal issue.
The statement about Brown being let go was released by the Buccaneers. Brown claimed that the team forced him to play through an ankle injury.
Brown had already released a statement of his own through his agent on Wednesday about how he was told by his coach that he couldn't play on Sunday. Brown said in the statement that the injury to his ankle was discovered on Monday, and that the Buccaneers were still demanding he see a doctor of their choosing. Brown shared a text exchange he had with his coach on the Friday before the game about his injured ankle. On Monday, he denied that Brown had told him of an injury.
The statement said that Brown did not tell anyone that he was too hurt to play the day of the game, even though he was listed on the injury report as questionable.
This official release comes after Brown posted a text exchange on his story on his social media accounts. Brady is accused of doing no work and taking $100,000 by Brown. Allegedly, Brown was only on the team because Brady wanted him.
The best way to describe Brown is messy. Nothing can be done with him. The union president told USA Today Sports that they don't have a lot of information yet, but that they are looking into a possible cover up by the Buccaneers.
I am not going to take the word of the company that something happened on Sunday. They want to get players on the field. Pop Warner is not a business.
I have at least the same amount for Brown as I have for the Buccaneers. erratic behavior is the only consistent thing about him. On Sunday, he ripped pads off, on Thursday he called out the main person in his corner on social media, and on December he was suspended for using a fake vaccine card because his chef told him he had not paid his bills.
In a situation where nobody deserves the benefit of the doubt, I guess dubiousness is the only correct decision. Now that I'm back away from this, I can see how the situation in the National Football League is, with a player accused of misconduct toward women and other indiscretions signed by a team in contention for a Super Bowl, and a team handling a player injury in a questionable way
