If I lived in Singapore, this would be cool.
KrisShop is selling old business class seats.
One new item that has just been added to the KrisShop website of Singapore Airlines will surely interest avgeeks. Singapore Airlines is selling refurbished seats directly to consumers.

The finishes are a bit different, but the bones are the same.
This is a new version of the Singapore Airlines business class seat.
The seat and sides are handcrafted and feature a different design than you would find onboard.
The seat can be tailored based on your preferred leather and bone in-lay, but it will take 16-20 weeks.
Each seat has a placard that shows the exact aircraft and the number of flying hours the seat was in service for.

The seat can only be shipped to Singapore, so it costs $6,000. I think shipping the product elsewhere in the world on your own would add a lot to the cost.

Singapore Airlines is working to give these seats new life so they can be enjoyed for many years to come. This isn't the first time the airline has done something like this, it was recently done by Singapore Airlines, where life vests and seatbelts were reuse for items like coasters, mobile phone bags, and more.

What would these chairs be used for?
Over the years, we have seen a lot of airline seats being sold after they are no longer needed. I have always been intrigued by this, but I have wondered what one would do with these, both in terms of design and use.
Would you put this next to a couch in the middle of your living room? Would you sit in it?
Would you put this somewhere where it wouldn't be used?
Do any OMAAT readers own any old airplane seats in their home? What do you do with it?
The bottom line.
Business class seats that first entered service in 2006 are being sold by Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines isn't the first airline to sell old business class seats, but the extent to which the seats are being refurbished is unique. The seats are stunning!
I am almost happy that these are only available in Singapore, but I might try to get one if I can.
Is it possible that you could ever have airplane seats in your home?
