The video that Unbox Therapy shared looked at reputed dummies of the upcoming S22 lineup, corroborating earlier leaks that suggest it will again consist of three sizes to compete directly with Apple's latest devices.
From left to right: the S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra.
The video that was removed but re-uploaded by others confirms that the S22 and S22 Plus will have a glossy design, and that the S22 Ultra will retain the rounded camera housing of the S21 and S21 Plus.
The S22 will have a slightly larger 6.1-inch display than its predecessor, while the S22 Plus will have a larger 6.55-inch display. The triple-lens camera array has a 50-megapixel main camera and ultra-wide and telephoto lens. The periscope lens will be added to the next iteration of the Apple device in 2023, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The S22 Ultra is expected to come with four embedded cameras, including a primary sensor with a Super Clear lens, which should provide reduced glare and reflections in shots. This year's model is expected to come with an S Pen stylus holder built into the side.
Last year, after initially mocking Apple for not including a charger with the iPhone 12.,Samsung followed its rival's lead and didn't include a charger with the S21 series. The same is expected with the S22 lineup, although it is rumored that the S22 Ultra will have a 45W power adapter, up from the 25W maximum supported by the previous generation model.
Given the global chip shortage and other supply-limiting factors, it's possible that the new flagship phone will be launched later this year, rather than in January or February.
