Apple's iPad Air is back on sale for $539

If the base iPad doesn't have everything you're looking for, the 2020 iPad Air is your best bet. We gave the tablet a score of 90 because of its fast performance, healthy battery life and fun colors. The iPad Air is back on sale at Amazon for $539, which is $60 off its normal price. If you don't mind skipping out on one of the more unique color options, this sale price is one of the best we've seen in months.

The iPad Air is available at Amazon.

The Air is Apple's mid-tier option and sits between the iPad and iPad Pros. The model on sale has 64GB of storage and is powered by an A14 Bionic chip with a six-core processor and four-core graphics. The iPad was refreshed to make it look more like the Pros, with a flatter design, and a lovely display. TouchID will be available thanks to the fingerprint reader on the device's power button, but you won't get FaceID on this machine.

We found the Air to be very fast in both performance and speed, and its battery lasted up to 12 hours in our testing. The Air is compatible with Apple's Magic Keyboard, which makes it a better replacement for a laptop than the latest iPad Pros. It supports the second-generation Apple Pencil and allows it to be a digital notebook for those who prefer to write things down on paper.

If you want an all-purpose tablet that's one step up from the base iPad, a discount like this is a good one to consider. There are a number of noteworthy discounts on the 10.2-inch tablets. The lowest priced model of the two is the 512 gigabyte model, which is $580, and the highest priced model is the 512 gigabyte model, which is $449.
