Leeds United will ban parents whose children invade the pitch

The children went on the pitch to meet the players.

Parents who allow their children to go on to the pitch on matchdays will be banned for a year.

The Elland Road club reminded supporters that encroaching on the pitch is a criminal offense.

The rule was even more important during the Pandemic because of the increased Covid measures.

The pitch is part of a coronaviruses'red zone' at Elland Road and those allowed in the area are checked for a negative test result before entering the stadium.

The statement said that the club would have a zero-tolerance approach to those who invaded the pitch and those who put players at risk.

The recent trend with incidents has included young supporters being sent on to the pitch and this will not be accepted. The parents or guardians of the junior in question will be banned from matches for a year.
