If California or Los Angeles County enforces stricter attendance restrictions due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, the AT&T Stadium in Arlington could be a backup venue for this year's Super Bowl.

The game is scheduled to be held in Sofi Stadium, which is home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers.
A Cowboys source said the league inquired about a date if the stadium was available. I've never heard anything else. They could be covering all options in case.

A source from the city of Arlington has told Leslie that the city would be prepared to host the game in the event of a site change.
Brian McCarthy, a spokesman for the league, told Leslie that having backup plans for the Super Bowl is a common procedure.

The Super Bowl will be played in Los Angeles on February 13th. In the event that the Super Bowl cannot be played as scheduled due to weather-related issues or unforeseen circumstances, we contact several clubs to inquire about stadium availability. The planning process for the Super Bowl in Los Angeles is ahead of schedule and we are looking forward to hosting the game there.

It would be the second year in a row that the Super Bowl would not be hosted in Los Angeles. The game was moved to Tampa Bay due to construction delays. Los Angeles hosted the Super Bowl in 1993.
The big game was hosted by AT&T Stadium in 2011.
Los Angeles County has seen 21,790 new cases as of January 4 and had a seven-day average of 1,994 new hospitalizations.
Phoenix will host the game in 2023, Las Vegas will host in 2024, and New Orleans will host in 2025.
