The TennesseeTitans announced Wednesday that running back Derrick Henry has been designated for return from the injured reserve list, clearing the way for him to begin practicing with the team.
Henry, who hasn't played since October because of a foot injury, will be able to practice with the squad without being counted against the 53-man roster.
Henry was having an amazing season before breaking his foot, rushing for 962 yards and 10 touchdown in just eight games while adding 18 catches for 254 yards. He was on pace to match last year's amazing campaign.
With the team already assured of a playoff spot, there's little incentive to rush Henry back if he's not healthy enough to play.
Henry will get more time to get up to speed before his return if theTitans win and other teams lose, which would give them a first-round bye.

Recovery time for an injury that had an estimated recovery time of 6-9 weeks is 9 weeks from surgery. It will be 11 weeks if Tennessee has a bye. One of the best running backs in the league will return at full strength.

The person is Dianna Russini.

The rest of the roster is also in good shape, even though the news is great for theTitans to get Henry back. This is a different looking team than the one we saw in October against the Bills. The Saints, Colts, and Chiefs are all playing.

Getting him back for the playoffs would be a huge boost for the team's chances, but D'Onta Foreman has played well in his place, and he has three touchdown runs. He's scored in three of his past five games.
There is only one Henry. He's a singular talent who is sixth in the league in rushing yards despite missing half the season, and getting him back transforms Tennessee's offense.
