The projected No. 1 pick in the NFL draft will be leaving the Michigan program.

Hutchinson finished second in the history of the award, becoming the third defensive player to do so. He was a consensus All-American and the winner of the Lombardi Award, which is given to the best lineman in the nation.

"My Michigan legacy is complete, and it was truly the best time of my life," Hutchinson said in a statement. The NFL draft is in the future. Thank you for everything.

The importance of Michigan snapping an eight-game losing streak to Ohio State was highlighted by Hutchinson in his post.

He said he spent years imagining the moments that unfolded in his final season at Michigan. It was 10 years in the making and could not have been a better night with my brothers. They have proved time and time again that 2% is still 2%. For the rest of my life, I will relive all the wonderful moments I had with my team.

Hutchinson had a Michigan record for a single season with 62 total tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks. Hutchinson forced two turnovers and recovered one.

The latest draft rankings by analysts Mel and Todd of ESPN show Hutchinson as the No. 1 overall pick.
