Getting my body full strength so I can run around the way I need first week of the playoffs is the reason for the break. Rule The Jungle is a song by Joe Burrow.

The biggest stakes from Cincinnati's Week 18 contest have already been removed.

It's nice to have the ability to give a break to the head coach. The second-year signal-caller left the field on Sunday with an injured ankle, but Evan McPherson kicked a game-winning field goal in the fourth quarter to give the Kansas City Chiefs a 34-31 victory.

After the game, he said his knee was a little sore but that it was nothing serious. He said he wanted to leave for precautionary reasons because the Bengals were going to run down the clock anyway.

On Wednesday, he said he would be good to play if the situation required it.

There will probably be no consensus on whether resting key players in the final week helps or hurts a team in the playoffs. On the other hand, if a player gets any extra time off, it can be a good thing. It could mean a player loses his sharpness.

If the worst-case scenario were to happen, it would be better to remove him from the starting lineup because he would be out of the playoffs.

There will be a battle of backups in Cleveland on Sunday.

Case Keenum will start for the Cleveland Indians against the Cincinnati Reds after the team's head coach confirmed that Baker Mayfield will have surgery to repair his shoulder.
