‘Highly Probable’ Djokovic’s Vaccine Exemption Came From Recent Covid-19 Infection, Report Says

The world's top-ranked tennis player is in limbo ahead of the Australian Open after a positive test result for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Three high-level sources told the Sydney Morning-Herald that it is highly probable that the medical exemption was granted for a lab-confirmed Covid-19 infection in the last six months.

The Victorian state government denied a visa to the Serbian star after he was granted a waiver by the Australian Open.

The basis for the exemption application review was provided by the Australian government guidelines, which stated that a recent PCR-confirmed case is one of the valid medical exemptions.

On Tuesday, he said he received an exemption permission in a social media post, but did not say why.
