Super League clubs set to face 48-0 defeat if they forfeit games with Covid outbreak

The Saints won their third Super League Grand Final in a row in 2021.

If a Covid outbreak prevents the Super League clubs from playing a match, they will have to give up the match and lose.

If seven or more players are unavailable due to Covid, clubs can apply for a cancellation.

Only a few were changed.

The Rugby Football League will consult clubs about the change before making a decision.

Under last season's guidelines, a 24-0 win for the opponent would be the penalty for a game being unfulfilled, but that score is now set to be doubled and clubs could be charged with malfeasance and have to pay compensation to the opponent.

Wigan Warriors played all of their regular season matches.

The points percentage will not be decided on the table.

The table was decided on points-per-game after the season returned in 2020 and the same system was used for the Championship and League One in 2021.

The Championship season starts on January 29th and the Super League on February 10th.

The RFL will make a decision on whether to bring back scrums by the end of January, after the laws committee recommends they should return if 85% of players in the Super League and Championship have been double vaccine.

The figure had not been met by the deadline.
