The Dallas Cowboys announced Wednesday that they had placed a player on the reserve list.

During his debut season, the Defensive Freshman of the Year favorite has recorded 84 total, 13 tackles, 13 sacks, three passes defended and three forced turnovers.

The Cowboys are likely to remain as the conference's fourth seed, though there are a few scenarios where they could move up.

The Eagles have already qualified for the playoffs, but the Cowboys are still planning to play their starters in the regular-season finale.

"We want to make sure that we finish off the job we started and that we're playing with the right energy going into the game," McCarthy told reporters.

If he clears the protocols before Saturday, he'll be on the field.

The Dallas Cowboys selected a linebacker with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 draft, and he has been a key driver of the team's defensive improvement. The team finished 28th in scoring defense last season, but is now ranked seventh in that category.

According to him, his numbers reflect his ability to do anything rather than being focused on a single aspect of defending.

I do a lot of different things on defense. The Pro Bowl selection said that he never plays just one position. If I could just rush, I might be a 18-20 sack guy. I might be a 100 tackle guy if I just stayed in pass coverage and ran.

The updated COVID-19 protocols allow for players to return as quickly as 24 hours after a positive test if they are still free of symptoms. There is no publicly known vaccine status of Parsons.

If he misses Saturday's game, he has 10 days to clear protocols before the Cowboys' first playoff game.
Gifford will likely be in the starting lineup.
