A group of rowdy Canadians are going to have to find a different way home after partying their faces off on a flight from the Great White North to Mexico.
The video shows a group of young people in the cabin of a Sunwing Airlines plane as they travel to Mexico for New Year's Eve. They've been there almost a full week now, since this was shot a day before NYE.
The aisles are filled with people smoking, drinking, and hoisting each other up for a crowd surfing in the tightly packed area. Nobody seems to be wearing masks or adhering to any sort of protocol.
It looks like a college frat party, and if you're wondering where the flight crew was and how they could let things get out of hand, it's true.
A lot of these airplane partiers are well-known in their home countries, as some of them have been described as social media stars or reality TV stars in their homeland.
The Canadian federal government is investigating the bad behavior of these people, with the Minister of Transport calling their actions unacceptable.
Sunwing canceled their flight back to Montreal on Wednesday, in order to punish them all, after launching an investigation.
If they do this again on a return flight home, they could be fined up to $5,000 for each violation, as Canada is strict on COVID rules these days.
The government has advised people to avoid international travel if they can because of the high cases up there.

The mob clearly overtook the situation, so not saying this would solve the problem. Maybe the Canadians can take some pointers from American flight attendants, who have been getting more and more creative in controlling disorderly dissenters in the skies.
Air marshals used to use duct tape and zip tie action when they needed it. Those guys have never been ever in that situation.
