‘Don’t Look Up’ Is Netflix’s Third Most Popular Movie Ever After Just 2 Weeks

Don't look up.

There is a service called Netflix.

Don't Look Up, the climate change allegory that has already become one of the biggest original movies ever, is easily the biggest story in the top 10 charts.

On Christmas Eve, Don't Look Up was available on the streaming service. The holiday family viewing window has allowed it to rack up 263.3 million hours in just two weeks, making it the third biggest movie of all time.

The top 10 movie list as it stands, according to the data from Netflix.

The Red Notice is over 347 million hours.
The bird box has been used for over 300 million hours.
263.3 million hours were spent not looking up.
231.3 million hours was spent on this.
The Irishman worked 218.6 million hours.
The Kissing Booth 2 has 208.25 million hours.
The Unforgivable has 208.2 million hours.
6 Underground has 205.5 million hours of work.
Spenser Confidential had 197.3 million hours.
189.9 million hours were spent by Enola Holmes.

There are a lot of interesting stories here. There are two movies on here by Ryan Reynolds andSandra Bullock. It makes you wonder if they should be combined as co-stars so we can see The Proposal 2.

The unforgivable.

There is a service called Netflix.

There is a skew towards recency. The Unforgivable, Red Notice and Don't Look Up have all been released within the last two months. The Kissing Booth 2 is close to a Martin Scorsese movie.

Don't Look Up should easily pass Bird Box by next week. It is possible that Red Notice will pass Red Notice to be the most viewed movie in history, just two months after the record was broken, but it is not certain how much the pace of viewing will slow down now that the holidays are over. Even if it ends tomorrow, these numbers are still very impressive.

Critics don't think that the movies have a cultural impact. Red Notice bragged that these hours were comparable to how many people have been watching the movies. But are they talking about the same things? Absorbed into the culture? I am not sure how many of these would be considered genre classics, and my pick for the best movie on this list is Extraction, a hell of an action movie.

We will see what Don't Look Up does over the next week, and how this list looks after new numbers come in.
