There's still plenty of room in the EV market for more battery-powered autos and SUVs, even though they're all the rage. The Airflow is Chrysler's first fully electric vehicle concept.
Chris Feuell, Chrysler CEO, said in a press statement that the Chrysler Airflow Concept represents the future direction of the Chrysler brand, and will give a peek at the dynamic design, advanced technologies and seamless connections that will characterize the full-electric portfolio we plan to reach by 2028.
The Airflow has a camera for in-vehicle video conference calls, as well as the company's new E/E and software platforms. The vehicle's central controller is the STLA Brain. SmartCockpit runs the Airflow's system, which includes navigation and voice control, as well as an on-board app store, for both the driver and passengers. Level 3 self-driving features will be offered by Autodrive with the ability for further feature improvements via theOTA updates.
The Airflow concept has dual 150 kilowatts motor which gives it a 350 - 400 mile range. The leather-bound interior has individual climate control options, separate dash-mounted touchscreens for the driver and front passenger, and seat-back mounted screens for both rear passengers, as well as ambient lighting that shifts based.
The Airflow that arrives in 2025 could look and perform differently than what was announced today. There are promises of level 3 autonomy.
