Sony has announced some basic information about its next-gen virtual reality hardware for the PS5 and it's called PSVR2. The device was not revealed but it did confirm some features that will be important to the gaming community.
The original PSVR was an easy to use device but limited in terms of hardware: resolution, field of view and such. The new one will be considerably more advanced and that will be very welcome.
It is not clear if the PSVR2 has total, per-eye, or some other metric. The field of view will be larger. The display type and refresh rate weren't mentioned at the event, but will be when the real specifications come out. Rumors said that there was a 4K total resolution with a 120-degree FoV.
It will have eye- tracking and foveated rendering, which are must-haves these days. For obvious reasons, eye- tracking and foveated rendering were used to focus the rendering process on the area where the player is looking.
Force feedback in the headset is one of the last features. You never know if people really want their heads vibrated.

A new set of controllers will come with the set, which will include their own improvements over the original two controllers, which have been superseded by the competition. Sony spilled the beans on these.
Zero Dawn and Forbidden West will be the first games to be exclusive to Sony's virtual reality platform.
We can expect more information from this event. If we hear more, we will update.
