Mario Williams, a freshman wide receiver for the Oklahoma Sooners, said Tuesday that he will enter the transfer portal.

Williams was the highest-ranked recruit in the class and the second highest-ranked commit.

Williams was fourth on the team in receiving yards and fourth in touchdown catches, despite being behind other players on the roster. Williams had five kick returns.

He had 100 yards and a touchdown in the victory over Texas Tech.

Williams' decision to enter the transfer portal is a big blow to the offense. Four of the top five receiver on the roster won't be back in 2022, because of Williams' decision to leave.

Mike Woods, Jadon Haselwood, and Williams are all gone, as well as Hall, who declared for the draft on Tuesday. Marvin Mims, the team's leading receiver, is the only one of the top five who will be back.

The starting quarterback said he would be entering the transfer portal on Monday. Spencer Rattler transferred out of Oklahoma to South Carolina and was replaced by Williams, who threw for 1,912 yards and 21 touchdown.

Venables and the new staff got a commitment from a quarterback from UCF on Monday, and they also signed a quarterback from the class of 2022, Nick Evers.
