Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Jacksonville Jaguars will interview Jim Caldwell for their head coaching position on Tuesday.
Jacksonville is looking for a permanent replacement for Urban Meyer, who was fired after a 2-11 start to the season.
Unlike Meyer, who was hired with no previous experience, Caldwell has spent two decades in various roles in the league. He has been a head coach for seven years and has a 62-50 record.
The 66-year-old led the Colts to the Super Bowl in 2009, his first year helming the team, while the Lions had a winning record in three of his four seasons. Since 2001 Detroit has only had one winning season.
An offensive background could be beneficial for the Jags as they seek to get the most out of their No. 1 overall pick. The quarterback has struggled in his first season with just 10 passing touchdown and 17 turnovers.
Heading into the off-season, Jacksonville is still looking for candidates.
The team has meetings scheduled with Todd Bowles, Kellen Moore and Doug Pederson, according to reports.
Several candidates, including Dan and Nathaniel, have received requests.
The team hopes that whoever is hired will be able to lead them to a winning season.
