This $800 Device Offers Private Listening Without Headphones

We are used to seeing lots of speakers and headphones at the show. A smart speaker that claims to offer a virtual-headphone experience is a new twist. The Noveto N1 will be available before the end of March for $800.

Most people will assume that the N1 is meant for playing audio out loud, because it looks like a mini soundbar for your desk. The small set of cameras between the speaker grilles is the first clue that the N1 isn't what it appears to be.

Noveto uses those cameras to enable its smart audio technology, which allows you to listen to music, take calls, or do anything else that requires audio, all while those in close proximity only hear ambient noise.

Noveto CEO Christophe Ramstein said in a press release that N1 creates a truly magical sound experience. It has the potential to change how we work and live. Imagine a time when we could have private conversations with no devices on the body, and we could communicate with ease and ease.

The audience choice is called Audience Choice.

Is this the most innovative product at the show?

Here is how it works. The N1 can transmit sound through the air. The sound of the beams coming from just outside your ears is audible. You have the idea if you can imagine tiny speakers floating beside your ears.

Noveto.

The cameras keep an eye on your head position because we tend to move our heads a fair bit even while seated. Noveto uses the camera system to understand when you are looking at the N1 to enable its other key feature; the ability to communicate easily and naturally.

Noveto claims that the system can deliver full 3D spatial audio to the person who is listening, while everyone else in close proximity only hears a faint whisper of sound. The N1 has a 3.5mm jack and can be used with a variety of technologies.

If the N1 works as well as Noveto claims, it could be a huge help to the many people who are working from home. The N1 has a tall asking price of $800, but it might be worth it if you don't need to constantly slip a set of headphones or earbuds on and off. We will let you know if we get one in for testing.
