Increased interest from celebrity collectors has led to the sales of Bored Ape Yacht Club being over $1 billion.
The Block reported that the total sales were over a billion dollars. The milestone was reached a few days into the new year.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of unique ape NFTs. An exclusive membership pass to the community's various activities is provided by the ownership of a Bored Ape NFT.

Since the launch of the digital apes, demand has increased. NBA star Stephen Curry bought one for $180,000 and hip hop artist Emmitt bought one for $462,000, both of which are part of the collection.

It is not just individuals. Companies have joined the Bored Ape bandwagon. In September, Adidas bought a one for over $150,000.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club was created by four friends who wanted to make some apes, test their skills, and build something ridiculous.

The collection has around 11,000 unique owners. As of publishing, an ape has sold for $344,000 on average.

It is one of the most popular NFT sets on OpenSea. In December, the floor price of the collection surpassed that of the other one.
Wall Street and Hollywood have been investing in NFTs, which are digital representations of artwork, sports cards, or other collectibles tied to a blockchain.

People who buy NFTs get the rights to the unique token on the block. NFTs are appealing to artists and collectors because of the fact that the information on aBlockchain is next to impossible to alter.
