The twins died of the same disease just days apart.

According to a report from French news outlet Le Monde, the brother of Grichka died six days after he was hospitalized with the virus.
The twins hosted a science fiction show in the 70s and 80s. In the 1990s, the twins denied having surgery, despite their cheek-bone, lips, and chins being different. They once said they were proud of their faces.

Their fame grew with the help of internet meme.
The Bogdanoff twins were beloved meme icons by retail traders on Wall Street Bets. Grichka is depicted as an all-powerful market maker who directs someone on the phone to "pump" or "dump" cryptocurrencies to the detriment of retail traders.
In a Wall Street Bets post after the deaths, a person wrote about the videos. PAHMP EET. He bought something? DahMP EET. The market that made the Bogdanoff twins passed away. May they rest in peace.

The twins were "ascended onto the block chain" according to comments written on the site. Someone joked, "who is going to ruin me now?"

According to Cointelegraph, the twins went along with their meme-fame and claimed that they predicted cryptocurrencies in the 80s on their Temps X show.
