Direct bookers tipped to turn to agents in 2022

According to a leading national newspaper, more customers will turn to travel agents for expert advice and guidance in the coming year.

The agency sector is one part of the industry that could start the new year with wind in its sails, according to an article in the Financial Times.

Advances in technology have made it easier to book flights, hotels, car rentals and tours online.

There were travel restrictions, testing requirements, and last-minute cancelations after the Pandemic. Travel is more complicated than it has been in a generation, and so a helping hand is suddenly at a premium.

The article quoted Aito Agents chair, Gemma Antrobus, who said that many direct bookers were now looking for agents for the first time.

The owner of Haslemere Travel said that many people had their fingers burnt when the Pandemic hit, and that many had lost money or spent time on hold to online companies.

A lot of our new business is from clients who have never used an agent before.
