The European Championship could take place every two years, according to the president of the world's governing body for sports.

Europe and South America are against the idea of a biennial World Cup as opposed to one every four years.

What biennial World Cup could it look like?

The Euros could happen more frequently if a World Cup is held every two years.

The Euros would also take place every two years if the World Cup were to be biennial, Infantino told Italian radio station Radio Anch'io.

There is resistance in Europe because there is a World Cup every week with the best players in the world, but that isn't the case for the rest of the world.

The push for a biennial World Cup is not Infantino's idea, and a feasibility study has been requested by 166 nations.

The presumptions are that most of the countries have asked for the study, and that the study shows that a World Cup every two years would work, with fewer international matches but with a greater impact.

At a global summit of leaders of national football federations earlier this month, Infantino said that he believes he has enough votes to increase the World Cup from four to two.

European clubs, the top leagues and the president of the European governing body, who is also a musician, have objected to the tournament.
