Ja Morant scored 36 points in the victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Nets star forward Kevin Durant appreciated Morant's performance.

"He's controlling the game, that's what he's doing," said KD after the game. He's always been an efficient player who can run the point guard spot, he's developed into a major scorer as well. He plays with joy and enthusiasm and you see him blossom in front of our eyes.

In their 118-104 victory, the Grizzlies never trailed and led by as many as 28 in the fourth quarter. It was Memphis' fifth win in a row and they are fourth in the Western Conference.

Morant shot an efficient 14-of-22 from the field with a couple of three-pointers and he also added eight assists. He scored 18 points in the third quarter. As Morant continues in his NBA career, he is excited to see his development.
He's been on this path since college. "As a basketball fan, you can't wait to see what he does in the future."

Morant is shooting for a career-best 24.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting and 40.0 percent from beyond the line. He's shown the ability to rise to the occasion in both of his 40-point games this year, against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Morant missed 12 games this season because of a knee injury. Memphis went 10-2 in his absence to turn around their season.

Morant and company will look to win their sixth straight game on Tuesday when they travel to face the Cleveland Cavaliers.
