According to multiple news reports, the central city of Yuzhou was placed under a mass lock down after three cases of Covid-19 were found, as the country aggressively pursues a zero Covid policy ahead of the Winter Olympics.

Nearly 1.2 million people will be confined to their homes in Yuzhou after three coronaviruses were detected.

All vehicles have been banned from the roads, and businesses have been ordered to close, as a result of the new rules.
The second Chinese city to be placed under a strict curfew as officials battle the country's worst outbreak of Covid-19 since early 2020 is Yuzhou.

In late December, the epicenter of China's current outbreak, Xi'an, was placed under a strict curfew, leaving residents short of food and other essential supplies.
China's commitment and fervor in fighting the coronaviruses is extreme. Police march suspected rulebreakers through the streets and officials are punished if they fail to control or prevent an outbreak. Australia, New Zealand and Singapore are now opening up and learning to live with the "zero Covid" that China is pursuing.

The Winter Olympics will be hosted by China in February. It is not clear how the country will manage its commitment to zero Covid and the influx of athletes from around the world, though as of Tuesday officials have sealed off the Olympic "bubble" to separate the event from the rest of the country.
