LG’s best-selling OLED TVs get an upgrade for the new year

Jan 4, 2022.

Over the past couple of years, the company has had a pretty incredible winning streak with its TVs. The company's C1 has been the flat screen to beat, so there's little surprise that the company's 2022. It seems like the company is content leaving well enough alone, with a relatively minor update to the best-selling televisions, adding some additional screen sizes and some additional smarts to the family.

Sony showed off a version of anOLED television with poor resolution and a high price back in 2007. The tech is within the range of middle-class wallets. The back-light found in older LEDs-lit LCD panels is no longer needed with the use of the OLED technology. The light source that is beamed through an array of little color pixels is not the same as the light source that is light emitting. This means that when an individual is off, it is not emitting any light at all, giving a jaw-dropping color gamut. Rollable or bendable TV screens are possible because of the lack of a backlight, and TV manufacturers can get fancy with the packaging.

The company was excited as it showed off the newest visions for the future of television, eight years after it collected a well-deserved CES Innovation Awards.

The G2 and C2 series of TVs are using upgraded technology to create even better visuals. The displays will deliver higher brightness with greater clarity and detail, all of which should result in even more realistic images beamed into your eye-holes at home.

The C2 is a 77-inch screen with evo OLED technology. It looks better in person. The world's first 97-inchOLED displays are in the new 83-inch model of the G2 series. The new sizes are in addition to the three other sizes already in the lineup. The new design of the G2 series is called Gallery Design and it has a flush-to-the-wall mounting option.

The C2 series has six display sizes for this year's starting lineup. The small 42 inch version is great for smaller rooms or for console or computer gaming. There are six options on top of the newcomer.

A shiny new user experience is based on webOS 22. The software includes personalizable profiles so the various users of the TVs can adjust their settings, which streaming services they prefer, and get tailored content recommendations based on their viewing histories.

The company maintains that it has further improved its already class-leading color rendition, brightness and flicker-free experience, as well as a number of other incremental upgrades on the display side. The company reminds us that its displays are the first 8K OLED TVs to enable full-on 8K gaming with the top-of-the-range RTX 30.

The reviews will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for those in the next few weeks and months. If you were able to stay away from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, you can check out the virtual exhibition booth from 8 am on January 4th, 2022.
