Samsung reveals cheaper Galaxy S21 FE with bigger screen and battery

If you were a fan of the S21 last year but didn't get around to buying it, we have good news: It's back and a little bit cheaper now.

The new 5G version of the S21 Fan Edition was announced. The camera version of last year's flagship is a bit cheaper and a bit less powerful. The same hole-punch selfie cam is in the top center of the display, with three cameras lined up in a traffic light style pattern on the back. The starting price of the S21 FE 5G will be $699, or $100 cheaper than the starting price of the S21.

The FE is close to the original S21 with the same processor under the hood. You can expect the differences.

The rear lens has 64MP on it.

You can get the S21 FE with either 8 or 6 gigabytes of memory. The S21 had a smaller storage size than the FE, but it didn't come with a bigger RAM or a lower price. That might not be a big deal in practice, with software processing in modern smartphones.

The reason for the launch of a new version of the phone is that it will be cheaper and have a better battery life. SamMobile reported this week that it could come with 1 ton of storage. The S21 FE will still be a good alternative for a more agreeable price, since the phone will likely cost a lot more than that.

Those who waited a whole year, you're well deserved. You got a bigger screen and better battery. Even if the camera is compromised, playing the long game is worth it.
