The founder of Theranos was found guilty of four counts of fraud.

Prosecutors argued that she lied about her company and technology that could detect diseases with a few drops of blood.

The jury found him guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud against investors and three counts of wire fraud.

The man could face up to 20 years in prison.

There were four other charges that were found not guilty of, including lying to the public. The jury was unable to reach a decision on three counts.

The judge said the jury could deliver a partial verdict after seven days of deliberations.

Theranos was once valued at $9 billion, making it the darling of Silicon Valley.

The firm promised to change the healthcare industry, but it began to fall apart after a Wall Street Journal investigation found that its core blood-testing technology did not work. It was closed in the year of 2018).

The jury of eight men and four women were presented with two different accounts of the former self-made billionaire, whose downfall shook Silicon Valley.

The prosecution wanted to prove that Ms.Holmes knew the product she was selling to investors was a sham, but remained focused on the firm's success.

Multiple lab directors testified at the trial that they were told to downplay their concerns about the flaws in the technology. The technology was operating as planned, they said.

The fraud was over business failure. She chose to be dishonest with patients and investors. "That choice was callous and criminal."

The defence described a woman who made waves in a male-dominated industry.

Kevin Downey said last week that crooks cash out, criminals cover up and rats flee a sinking ship at the first sign of trouble. He said that she went down with the ship when it went down.

In her defence, she admitted to mistakes in the operation, but insisted she never deceived patients or investors.

The defence blamed the former business partner and long-term boyfriend ofHolmes.

Mr Balwani has been accused of emotional and sexual abuse. She described an intense relationship with Mr Balwani in which he controlled how she ran Theranos, who she spoke to, how she spoke to them, and what she ate. He denied the allegations.

Their decade-long relationship ended around the same time he stepped down as CEO. Next month he will face a separate trial.

After dropping out of chemical engineering at the university, Theranos's founder,Holmes, founded the company at age 19. She was able to raise more than a billion dollars from billionaires.
