Klay Thompson will return to the Golden State Warriors lineup on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
A final decision is expected once the Warriors return from a two-game trip on Friday.

Thompson's season debut will be his first game in over two years because of back-to-back devastating leg injuries. Thompson tore his knee in the NBA Finals and then tore his Achilles while training for the 2020-21 season.

Thompson is one of the most efficient shooting guards in the NBA. In each of the eight seasons he has played, he has shot over 40 percent from three-point range. The veteran has a career average of 19.5 points and 41.9 percent three-point shooting.

The Golden State Warriors are the best team in the league this season with a record of 28-7. Thompson's return will make the Warriors even more dangerous.
While he'll likely be ramping back up slowly, the Warriors have role players in place like third-year shooting guard Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee and Gary Payton II to help share the minutes on the wing. It is ambitious to expect Thompson to return to his pre-injury form.
The Warriors are going to become a nightmare for the rest of the NBA if Thompson comes back to the level that saw him emerge as one of the game's best three-point shooters.
