CES 2022: Samsung Gets Into NFTs and Gaming With Latest TVs

A new gaming hub that will allow the company's smart TVs to compete with built-in services like Apple Arcade as well as various consoles was one of the new features introduced today.

The gaming hub is a new platform that will allow the owners of the tv to play console-quality games through integration with streaming services. The upcoming service will support PC game streaming services like Utomik and Stadia.

The Hub is designed to offer an extensive library of games, which will be accessible on select 2022 Smart TV models that have the hardware to support them. Apple does not have a TV of its own, but the new gaming service could make it more appealing than a set-top box. In November, the company said it would integrate streaming game services into its TV sets.

Apple has an App Store for independent mobile games, as well as a subscription service for Apple Arcade, which allows you to play games on the Apple TV with third-party controllers. There are rumors of an Apple TV with a more powerful processor that focuses more on gaming, but it's not clear if such a product is going to happen.

There are plans to integrate with additional streaming services and to facilitate easy access to YouTube for game discovery and to watch streamers playing games.

The upcoming TV models from the company have other features. Users can discover, purchase, and trade digital artwork through supported MicroLED, Neo QLED, and The Frame television sets with the integrated NFT Platform app.

NFTs are non-fungible (aka unique) token meant to represent digital items, and the format is used to share one-of-a-kind works of art, images, songs, and more. For those who are into NFTs, the TV sets will allow them to be purchased and shown off.

Other features of the 2022, include improved picture and sound quality, additional screen size options up to 112 inches, faster processors, and more.
