South Carolina lost its first game of the season last week, but remained the top team in the AP women's college basketball poll.

A last-second shot by Missouri gave them a 70-69 overtime victory. South Carolina received 22 of the 30 first-place votes from a national media panel to remain the top choice in the poll.

The team has beaten five top 10 teams this season. The second place was held by Stanford.

It's not the first time a team has lost and remained at the top. The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters had a 54-game winning streak snapped when they were defeated by Old Dominion. Louisiana Tech was the top dog the next week.

Louisville received five first-place votes this week and was third. The other three first-place votes went to the Cats, who haven't played since December. Arizona followed North Carolina State.

Indiana moved up two spots after a win over a ranked team. There are 6 Maryland. The Terrapins fell to 10th as Tennessee, Michigan and Texas moved ahead of them.

The Bears lost to Kansas State on Sunday, ending their streak of 137 weeks in the top 10. That was the longest active streak after the end of the University of Connecticut's streak. 14th place is where Baylor dropped in the poll. Louisville has 81 polls in the top 10.

Missouri went from receiving no votes last week to just missing the AP Top 25 after its victory over South Carolina. The Oklahoma Sooners jumped in the poll despite the fact that the Tigers did not make the poll. The Sooners are ranked for the first time in a while.
