Ghislaine will not reveal information about others who helped Jeffrey Epstein run his sex-trafficking network, her brother told The Sunday Times.
On December 29th, a jury found Maxwell guilty on five of six charges. A jury found him guilty of three conspiracy counts, one sex-trafficking count, and a count for transporting a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.
She faces up to 65 years in prison for those charges, and still faces a second trial for lying under oath.
Insider was told that after her conviction, she only had two options, fight her case on appeal or start cooperating with investigators. The names of several high-profile people, including Prince Andrew, appeared in evidence during the trial.
Ian Maxwell told The Sunday Times that Ghislaine Maxwell has no plans to plead guilty.
Ian Maxwell told the newspaper that no plea bargain offers were made or received before the trial. I expect that position to be maintained.
Ghislaine is in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center. US District Judge Alison Nathan has not set a sentencing date.
Ian Maxwell told The Sunday Times that his sister is subdued but strong in spirit and will be appealing her conviction.
He was awaiting trial on child sex-trafficking charges when he died by suicide. Ian said that his sister is not a suicide risk.
"She knows that there are many people who believe in her innocence, including her family, who love and support her," said Maxwell.
Since his death, Ghislaine Maxwell has been the central figure in the investigation. Neama Rahmani, a US attorney and president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, previously told Insider that prosecutors would need to be "really sensitive" about giving Maxwell a break in exchange for cooperation because Epstein was still awaiting trial on serious charges at the time of his death.
Rahmani told Insider that she was instrumental to the abuse.
