Jeffrey Epstein’s $500k Settlement With Accuser Unsealed In Prince Andrew’s Sex Abuse Civil Lawsuit

Lawyers for Prince Andrew, who is being sued by Virgina Giuffre for sexually abusing her, said the documents will show he was involved in the settlement.

The Mar-a-Lago club hosted a party in February 2000.

Giuffre received $500,000 in a settlement in exchange for ending her lawsuit against him.

Potential defendants and second parties are shielded from future lawsuits in the settlement.

The settlement agreement will likely be discussed during a hearing in New York on Tuesday.

In 2009, a settlement was reached between Giuffre and Epstein, ending one of the dozens of civil suits filed against him by women who claim he sexually abused them when they were teenagers.

In a statement to Forbes in September, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said that the lawsuit against him was thrown out because of the settlement with Giuffre. Giuffre claimed that he was battery by Dershowitz. The same reasons for dismissing the case against me seem to apply to Prince Andrew. The sealed settlement was granted permission to be seen by Andrew's legal team. Giuffre's lawyer said the settlement was irrelevant to his case against Andrew, but agreed that the royal's legal team had the right to see it.

Andrew is trying to have the case against him thrown out, and the terms of the old settlement are his latest attempt. Giuffre lives in Australia, so the U.S. court has no jurisdiction over the case, according to the prince's lawyer. Giuffre claims Andrew sexually abused her on three separate occasions. Last week, Ghislaine was convicted of sex trafficking, and is believed to have introduced the late sex offender to Andrew. Giuffre did not testify.
