El Salvador's crypto-loving president says bitcoin is going to $100,000 this year and predicts 2 more countries will adopt it as legal tender

The $100,000 price target for the asset was not reached as many had predicted, but El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele still believes that it will eventually hit that milestone.

Over the weekend, one of the biggest advocates of the digital currency shared this prediction with his millions of followers. His top prediction is that the value of the digital currency will hit $100,000 this year. It will have to more than double to reach $47,194 in three days.

The president predicted that two more countries will join El Salvadoran in using the digital currency as legal tender.

"Volcano bonds" will be oversubscribed. The country of El Salvador plans to issue $1 billion in bonds to buy more of the digital currency. The new city is close to the volcano, which will help with the project.
