Tesla shatters record with nearly a million delivered cars in 2021

It has been a good year for the company.

The electric car maker released its fourth quarter report on Sunday. The company produced more than 300,000 vehicles and delivered more than 300,000 in the fourth quarter.

The company said it delivered over 936,000 vehicles. This is a new record for the company, and nearly double the result from 2020, when they delivered 499,500 cars.

The bulk of these numbers came from Model 3 and Model Y sales, which accounted for over one million deliveries in the year.

The global chip shortage hampered production and pushed deliveries of Model S and Model X many months into the future, like most other automakers. The company was able to take advantage of the increased production capacity of its new factory in China. Thanks to the company's new factories in Berlin, Germany and Austin, Texas, the production rate is likely to increase next year.

The first year that the company got some real competition from other carmakers was the year in which it achieved its results.

The earnings report for the final quarter of the year is yet to be announced.
