Top Seeded Packers Are NFC's Best Team and Could Get Even Scarier

The Green Bay Packers are currently the best team in the league after they defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The Packers haven't reached their peak yet.
They should get better once the playoffs start because a few key contributors could be back in the fold, and the offense thrives with quarterback Rodgers taking full advantage of all of the weapons at his disposal.
Rodgers has been exceptional. He's one of the top names in the discussion and could very well be considered the favorite if someone feels that Joe Burrow is a good player.

Rodgers has been his normal, exceptional self, as evidenced by his 288-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Vikings. Since Week 5, the quarterback has thrown one pick up.

His streak of six straight games with two or more touchdown and no picks is the second-longest in NFL history.

Rodgers could finish the season with four or fewer picks, despite 500 or more passing attempts for the third time in his career. No one else has done it in the same way.
The first-round bye will give the team plenty of time to enjoy the new year.
I don't want to say that it's relaxing, that's not what it is. Davante Adams told reporters that it was comforting to know that we had that to lean on.

The supporting cast has been unreliable this season because of injuries, but Rodgers benefits from that. The lineup could solidify once the playoffs start.
The offense flows through Adams. The Packers' single-season record was set by the wide receiver who caught 117 passes.
The Rodgers-Adams connection is one of the best in the history of the game, yet Green Bay will need help to make the Super Bowl under Matt LaFleur's supervision. In order to reach the right balance, an all-time great quote from college coach Mike Leach applies.
When he was the Washington State's head coach, he told reporters that there was nothing balanced about 50 percent run, 50 percent pass.
The run-to-pass ratio was better on Sunday, with the two running backs combining for 139 yards on 22 carries. The two backs carried the load.

Jones and Dillion should be featured at Lambeau Field to take full advantage of the frozen tundra. The duo should get the ball because they are quality offensive threats, not just as running backs because it's too cold to pass the pigskin.

Jones is a viable receiving threat out of the backfield. His ability to burn opponents in either manner keeps defenses on their heels.

The person is different. The second-year ball-carrier can punish opponents in short-yardage or red-zone situations. This doesn't mean Dillion is incapable of making plays, he just brings a different dynamic to the offense.

He can be the closer, as he was against the Vikings, but he doesn't need to be a workhorse.

Adams is going to get the ball. No one can stop the game's premier wide receiver. He had six or more catches in 13 of 15 games. Everyone else can make the offense better.
The running backs and their usage have already been mentioned, but the wide receiver corps beyond Adams should receive a significant boost. After being on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the man returned to the lineup. He only caught one pass. His involvement should grow as he gets his legs under him.
Randall Cobb went on injured reserve after having core muscle surgery, but is expected to return.
"He said, 'Don't worry, I'll be back,'" Vrable said about the Packers receiver. It could have been the end of the season for some people. He told me that, and I knew if anyone came back, it would be him. He's excited about the opportunity and doesn't want to miss it.

Last week, he practiced. He'll probably get another weekend to heal before he's back in the lineup.
A full complement of wide receivers is not the only thing that could make a difference. The Packers took their time with his recovery after he tore his knee.

When healthy, Bakhtiari is an elite left tackle with no one better than him.

Dave is one of the premier players in the league at that position, he's a great player. LaFleur said two weeks ago that he was doing everything he could. "Our athletic training staff is doing everything they can to get him back out there, and when the time is right, he'll be back out there."

The Packers' front five has done well even without their two best players in Elgton and Bakhtiari. Billy Turner had a knee procedure this season.
The group continues to fight. If the three-time Pro Bowl selection is able to return this season, the entire unit could be improved.
Expectations can be found on the defensive side of the ball. Za'Darius Smith is a candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year. He had a back surgery in September. His possible return is still up in the air.

The Packers have good outside linebackers with Preston Smith and Rashan Gary, but a few quality reps from Za'Darius Smith each game would make the front even more potent.
Jaire Alexander's recovery from an in-season shoulder surgery has him on the shelf. The defensive back was activated from the injured reserve.
Alexander is the best pure cover corner in the game. He can provide a much deeper secondary during the most important part of the season, even though he isn't the same player during the playoffs.
The Packers became the first team to win 13 games in a row in three straight seasons with Sunday's victory. The previous two seasons ended with a loss in the playoffs, but the squad has been very good during LaFleur's tenure.

Proper distribution between Rodgers and his weapons, as well as some fortuitous medical evaluations, could push the Packers past everyone else in the conference.
