Apple's New Standalone Monitor Could Be Around Half the Price of the Pro Display XDR

Mark Gurman, a reporter for the financial publication, said that Apple's new consumer-oriented monitor could come in at around $2,500.

Gurman says the new monitor will be about half the price of the Pro Display XDR, which he's "hoping" to launch this year.

The Pro Display XDR costs $4,999 before the optional $999 stand, but Apple is rumored to be developing a lower-priced external monitor that would be sold alongside it.

Gurman's wording suggests he's confident the new display will be around $2,500, although he appears to be less bullish about it being released this year.

Gurman first reported on Apple's development of a stand-alone display in January of 2021, which he believes will be a consumer-oriented successor to Apple's previous Thunderbolt Display.
